For the past two and a half years, mankind has faced a situation like a science fiction story.

We have learned a great experience and lesson through the impact of the corona virus. At the same time, even at that worst moment, we showed the determination and strength of our nation to the world.

In particular, we have such strength when it comes to vaccination. India’s prowess in vaccine production, digitalization of vaccination delivery, the urge to administer the life-saving drug to 100 crore people as directed by the Prime Minister, and inspiring people to flock to vaccination camps, have taught us unprecedented lessons on all fronts. We have had many successes.

In the history of modern science, the discovery of a vaccine against the corona virus and its release to the public in less than a year will be recorded as a great achievement.

In spite of various domestic challenges related to vaccine production and global shortage of raw materials for vaccine production, the ‘Serum Institute of India’ remained undaunted and produced more than 200 crore vaccines.

This is equivalent to vaccinating one-third of the world’s population.

This scale of vaccine production was a demonstration of the country’s potential to the world. After that, the Govin app became a huge help in administering and regularizing the vaccine.

As a result, the work of providing vaccination certificates to the public through online has also been done very well. At a time when other countries were scrambling to issue such certificates digitally, in our country it was issued without any difficulty.

Apart from this, with the cooperation of the Central and State Governments, vaccination work was carried out in every nook and cranny of the country. In India, the second largest country in the world by population, 96.7 percent of the population has received the first dose of the vaccine.

89.2 percent have administered the second dose of the vaccine. 18.7 crore precautionary installments have been disbursed so far.

Globally, about 2 crore deaths have been prevented by vaccination programs against corona infection. A similar feat has been achieved in India. This shows that the measures taken against the corona virus under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi have turned into a people’s movement.
