An attacker shot and killed a local Congress party leader in Punjab’s Moga district after storming his house GeoTv News


The local Congress leader was shot dead at his home in Dala village in Punjab’s Moga district late on Monday.

Baljinder Singh Bali, also known locally as ‘Numberdar’, was shot dead after an assailant broke into his house and opened fire, police said. It is suspected that another attacker was sitting outside on a motorcycle.

Bali was Ajitwal’s Congress chief.

In CCTV footage of the incident, the shooter was seen breaking into the house while Bali was standing on his balcony. He opens fire and Bali collapses. One of the bullets hit his chest. An old man appears and tries to catch Bali but collapses again. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries, according to police.

Moga SSP J Elanchezhian reached the spot and started investigation.
