Spanish fashion giant Zara is under fire for hosting far-right Israeli leader Itamar Ben Gower at an election event.

The Palestinians have called on Zara for its Israeli stores after the company’s franchisees hosted Itamar Ben Gvir at a campaign event.

Ben Guerre called for the killing and displacement of Palestinians. He has been a supporter of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the infiltration of settlers into the neighborhood.

Canadian billionaire Joey Schaubel – owner of the international Zara franchise in Israel – hosted a party at his villa on Thursday 20 October to support Ben Gower in the election.

Ben Guerre heads the ultranationalist Ozma Judaism party, which is running alongside the Religious Zionist party in the Nov. 1 election and is expected to win 12 seats.

Videos of Palestinians burning Zara clothes have surfaced on various social media platforms, with supporters calling for a boycott.

Mayor Rahat Faiz Abu Suhaiban was among those who joined the protest, calling Zara a “fascist” because of Schäubel’s support for Ben Guerre.

“Our position should be clear regarding stores that support this outbreak,” he said.

Palestinian-Israeli politician Ahmed Tabi, who has clashed with Ben Guerr in the Knesset chamber several times, took to Twitter to describe Zara’s “ugliness”.

Ben Gower responded to the tweet, “Zara, beautiful clothes, beautiful Israelis.”

The Palestinian community in the United States took part in a campaign against the company Zara through social platforms, calling on community members, Palestinians and Arabs living in the United States, to boycott the company’s merchandise.
