Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has instructed the officials concerned to ensure required availability of fertilizers in the state. Reviewing the status of fertilizer distribution in a meeting held at Mantralaya on Tuesday, the Chief Minister sought information on availability, sale and stock of urea, DAP, NPK, SSP etc. The Chief Minister said that the weather department has predicted rainfall activities in the next two-three days in the state and hence the demand for fertilizers will rise significantly in the state thereafter. Hence, availability of adequate fertilizers should be ensured across the state, Chouhan said. He directed officials to continue closely monitoring internal distribution arrangements.
As many as 422 marketing association centers are engaged in selling fertilizers. Fertilizers have been sold in cash from the sales centers affiliated with the marketing committees, which number 154 centers. Moreover, the committees established 92 additional sales centers. The token system has also been introduced to save farmers from standing in long queues.
Chouhan was also briefed on the state’s rabi sowing status. It was informed that so far, rabies crop has been sown on 81.71 lakh hectares in the state which is 5.33% more than last year.
