They were handed over a check worth Rs 2 lakh from the Prime minister‘s Relief Fund. The government also confirmed that it stands with the family of the deceased.
It is known that he died in an accident while trying to save a child during Kali Puja vizhar on November 14. The name of the deceased policeman is Sandeep Barman. He is a resident of Siwai area of Balurghat district of South Dinajpur district. Sandeep was working at Padmapukur in Khiderpur, Kolkata. Since the accident occurred, the Prime Minister said that he would stand by the family of the deceased. Maldah Range DIG Prasoon Banerjee, District Magistrate Bijan Krishna and Superintendent of police Chinmoy Mittal went to the deceased’s house on Sunday on the instructions of the Chief Minister. A check worth Rs 2 lakh was handed over to the family from the Prime Minister’s Fund.
