The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has joined the ranks of boycotters for the upcoming presidential election, vowing to continue their protest. GDA leader Sadruddin Shah Rashidi, accompanied by colleagues, declared their stance during a press conference at Functional House Clifton. Rashidi affirmed their support for the ongoing protest led by Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and pledged full cooperation. Expressing discontent over the delay in election results and alleging electoral malpractice, Rashidi emphasized their rejection of the purportedly fraudulent election, which they believe undermines the public mandate.

President Uddin Shah Rashidi echoed this sentiment, confirming GDA’s unwavering support for PTI’s protest. He stressed their commitment to pursuing legal avenues within the constitutional framework, questioning the longevity of a government lacking public mandate.

Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), also announced a boycott of the presidential election, rejecting any participation in the voting process. Despite efforts by the People’s Party delegation, led by Yusuf Raza Gilani, to garner support, Maulana Fazlur Rehman remained steadfast in his decision, affirming adherence to the party’s stance. He clarified that neither he nor his party members would cast their votes in the election, indicating a unified stance within the party.
