Senate Elections, papers of 28 candidates on 12 seats in Punjab

A total of 28 candidates have officially thrown their hats into the ring for the upcoming Senate elections, vying for the 12 available seats in Punjab.

Sources reveal that among these candidates, 17 have submitted their nomination papers for the 7 general seats. Notable contenders include Talal Chaudhary, Mohsin Naqvi, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ijaz Minhas, Waleed Iqbal, Waseem Shehzad, Ahad Cheema, Parvez Rashid, and Hamid Khan.

In addition, 5 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the two women seats, with Sanam Javed, Faiza Ahmed, and Anusha Rehman among them. Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Mustafa Ramde have submitted their nominations for the technocrats seat.

Furthermore, Tariq Javed and Asif Ashiq are vying for the minority seat among the 12 seats in Punjab. It’s important to note that the deadline for submitting nomination papers for the Senate elections has now passed, setting the stage for a closely watched electoral contest in the region.
