Talks between power workers and government fail in UP, workers do not return to work despite warnings, strike continues GTN News

The minister warned striking workers to return to work or lose their jobs. He said 1,332 contract workers were fired and 1,000 were warned not to return to work. Power Minister Sharma met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and apprised him of the current power situation in view of the strike.

As of Saturday night, 2,392 MW of power was generated, which is 17 percent of the total demand of 13,856 MW. The shutdown of the 1,000 MW Obra plant, the 1,130 MW Anpara plant and the 210 MW Parichha plant resulted in the absence of power generation. The Harduaganj power generation center is also to be shut down in support of the strike.
