Web Desk: In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the resolution against the Election Tribunal Ordinance has been passed by a majority vote.
In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly meeting, the resolution was presented by the government member Abdul Salam.
In the text of the decision, it was written that PTI believes in the independence and autonomy of institutions, Form 47 Ordinance appointing retired judges in the Election Tribunal by the government is an attack on the independence of the judiciary.
The decision further said that through the ordinance, the government will appoint judges of its choice and take arbitrary decisions from the electoral tribunal, the implementation of the ordinance kills justice and democracy.
The resolution said that the House totally rejects this black law ordinance, the Federation should immediately withdraw this ordinance.
It should be noted that the government amended the NAB Ordinance and the Election Tribunals Ordinance a day ago, after which Interim President Yusuf Raza Gilani approved and promulgated the ordinance.
After the approval of the Electoral Commission Ordinance, the government will be able to appoint retired judges in the Electoral Tribunal.
