Meetings with FBRCPTA, Telecom Operators
FBR Parent Teacher Association, Meetings with Telecommunications Operators, Income Tax General Order issued under Section 114B of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001.
According to FBR, the purpose of the meetings is to ensure blocking of mobile SIMs of those who do not file tax 2023. Telecom operators agreed to manually block SIMs in small batches.
FBR says to provide SIM blocking details of 5 thousand non-filers to telecom operators. More batches will be sent to telecom operators daily.
In a statement issued by FBRC, it was mentioned that telecom operators have started sending warning messages against SMS blocking. Partnerships reflect a commitment to the supremacy of tax laws. Blocking SIMs of non-filers will increase tax collection.
