Web Desk: Japan won the final of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup played in Malaysia for the first time after a thrilling match.
In the decisive game of the event, the best game was shown by both teams and 2-2 goals were scored by both teams until the end of the scheduled time.
The game was decided by a penalty kick and both teams had 4.4 chances. In the penalty shootout, Japan put the ball in the goal four times while Pakistan only managed to win twice.
According to the sources, Japanese player Tanaka Seren gave his team the lead by sending the ball into the net in the 12th minute of the match. Their success continued until the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, it was a tough game and both teams attacked each other, but nobody could score a goal.
At the start of the third quarter, Pakistani player Ahmed Ejaz scored a field goal in the 34th minute of the game to equalize the score 1-1, while three minutes later in the 37th minute, Abdul Rehman scored a second field goal to give her team leads 1-2. The third quarter ended with the same score.
