Mountaineer Naila Kayani steps towards another honour

Pakistani mountaineer Naila Kayani will climb Makalu, the fifth highest peak in the world, in Nepal next month.

Makalu is 8485 meters high and is 19 kilometers south-east of Everest.

Naila Kayani will start the expedition from the base camp on May 3 and reach the summit on May 5.

After completing the summit, Naila Kayani will be the first Pakistani woman to summit Makalu, she is the only Pakistani woman to summit 10 peaks above 8,000 meters.

Naila started her career in 2021 by leading Gesher Brim Two.

After climbing K-2 and Gesher Brim-1 in 2022, Naila Kayani climbed 7 more peaks in 2023.

Last year, Naila Kayani summited Annapurna, Everest, Lhotse, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Manaslu and Cho Ayo.
