Web Desk: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has said that the current provincial government is working with a new determination to eradicate the polio virus.
He expressed these views while speaking to a high level delegation from the Polio and Vision Board, the delegation was led by Dr. Christopher Elias from the Polling and Vision Board.
The delegation included representatives from the World Health Organization and UNICEF and other global partner organizations.
Apart from the provincial health minister, and other relevant officials, officials of the National Emergency Campaign were also present at the meeting.
In the meeting, the measures to eradicate polio virus from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, challenges faced and detailed consideration of future action plan and decision to continue joint measures to eradicate polio virus were expressed.
Speaking to the delegation, the Prime Minister said that eradicating the polio virus is definitely difficult but not impossible, our wish and effort is that the credit of eradicating the polio virus from the state goes to the government the present state.
He said that the current state government is working with a new resolution to eradicate the polio virus If steps are taken, the state government will take three steps.
He said that it is necessary to inform the parents who refuse to give anti-polio drops to their children, for this purpose, they will use the services of local elected public representatives, scholars and local elders. It will be part of the polio campaign.
The First Minister said, in this regard, that special attention will be given to the sensitive areas of the province, there is a need to further improve mutual consultation and coordination of the local administration and the partner organizations in the sensitive areas, according to the the specific conditions of each area By applying and implementing it, better results can be achieved.
He said that the sewage system needs to be completely underground along with other measures to eradicate the polio virus in the state capital.
During the meeting, the delegation appreciated the leading role of the Prime Minister in making the polio campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a success.
