Sindh Health Department Typhoid Vaccination campaign has started, this campaign will continue till May 25 in 7 districts of Karachi and 1 district of Hyderabad.
According to Sindh EPI Project Director Dr Naeem, typhoid vaccine is for children between 9 months and 15 years.
He said that through van services, typhoid vaccine injections will also be given to children in schools.
Sindh EPI Project Director Dr Naeem said that the target during the campaign is to give typhoid vaccine to 89 lakh children.
On the other hand, Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho said in an address to the ceremony organized in this regard that diseases are spreading rapidly, it is very important to prevent them, contaminated water and food is the reason for typhoid epidemic.
He further said that although the old vaccines and antibiotics did not work to prevent typhoid, the new vaccine works to prevent typhoid.
Sindh Health Minister also says that parents should vaccinate their children against typhoid, in case of non-vaccination there may be punishment.
