Sadiq Khan has made history by being sworn in as Mayor of London for the third time. This time, the newly elected Mayor of London Sadiq Khan paid a big tribute to his parents.
He said my father served this city as a bus driver. Sadiq Khan said his father was proud to call himself a Londoner.
He said when my father came to Britain in those days, racism was at its height, there were signs on the windows of shops and boarding houses, Blacks, Irish and no dogs allowed.
Mayor Sadiq Khan said the son of an Asian immigrant raised on a council estate in south London was to become the city’s mayor.
