New Delhi: An RTI application has revealed that a pharmacy course where ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and the names of top Indian cricketers were written in papers during the Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal (VBSP) state University exams in Uttar Pradesh At least four firsts were awarded 50% marks for first year students.

The Times of India reported that four students on a Diplomacy in Pharmacy course at a university in Jaunpur were given marks despite not having answered the questions correctly.

However, Hindustan Times reported that the number of such students could be up to 18.

According to NDTV, two university professors, Vinay Verma and Manish Gupta, have been suspended for allegedly marking students on papers decorated with religious slogans and song lyrics.

The RTI application was filed by Devyanshu Singh, an alumnus of the university. He questioned the marks given to the students and wrote to the Chief Minister, UP Chief Minister, Governor and Vice Chancellor alleging that a student who should have got zero failed the exam in compliance with the university authorities Scored more than 60%. marks.

According to Hindustan Times, the university formed a committee after UP Governor Anandiben Patel, who is also the chancellor of the university, ordered an inquiry into the matter. Vice-Chancellor Vandana Singh said the committee ‘said in its report that students got high marks.’

NDTV reported in its report that it had seen papers where ‘Jai Shri Ram’ was written in the middle of the answer about ‘Pharmacy as a career’. Names of cricketers like Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were also written in the same answer.

According to the report, he confirmed that the committee had recommended the termination of the services of the two teachers, which is yet to be approved by the university’s executive committee.

The VBSP vice-chancellor said, ‘Teachers have been warned against such an incident happening again. The committee has recommended the dismissal of the teachers in question. But the model code of conduct is in force and further action will be taken after it expires.
