Bengaluru: An Indian court has ordered an online food delivery app to pay Rs 5,000 (Pakistani 20,000) as compensation for not delivering ice cream to a customer despite receiving money from it.

According to Indian media, a court in the city of Bengaluru in the Indian state of Karnataka recently directed online food ordering platform Swiggy to pay Rs 5,000 to a customer whose ice cream was not delivered despite receiving a Do so payment.

The court also ordered the platform to refund the amount of Rs 187 paid by the user while ordering the ice cream.

The judgment said that the plaintiff proved that the service check was not performed properly by the other party, the platform has not refunded the amount paid by the plaintiff even though the product ordered by the plaintiff has not been delivered. The behavior of this platform reflects substandard service and an unprofessional way of doing business.

The customer claimed that the Swiggy app showed the order as delivered when the ice cream had not actually arrived. When the customer contacted Swiggy to file a complaint, it did not refund the order amount, after which the customer went to court.
