Heavy rain and strong winds have entered various areas of Balochistan including Gwadar since last night, stormy rain with thunder and lightning has created floods in Gwadar, Pasni, Jeoni and other areas.
Due to the rain, the rivers of different districts of Gwadar flooded. Water came into residential houses. Low-lying areas were flooded and many roads were washed away.
All educational institutions and shops and offices in the affected areas were closed as business life was brought to a standstill. According to the Balochistan Meteorological Department, more than 100 mm of rain has been recorded so far.
The Gwadar Development Authority has started rehabilitation work in the city on an emergency basis. In the first stage, the process of removing water from inside the houses is done immediately.
