Now there will be no amnesty plan, people will have to pay taxes, Finance Minister

Dubai: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that there will be no amnesty scheme now but people will have to pay taxes.

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb while addressing an event in Dubai said that economic initiatives are not related to any government but to the country. By June, the foreign exchange reserves will be between 9 and 10 billion dollars.

He said that PIA will be privatized by July while talks are being held with Turkey and Europe for the privatization of Islamabad Airport. Lahore and Karachi airports will also be privatized.

Mohammad Aurangzeb said that Pakistan is not short of international funds at present. We are trying to reduce the current account deficit and we have been successful.

He said that the World Bank is ready to support “Digital Pakistan” for 10 years. There will be no amnesty scheme in the country but people will have to pay taxes.

The Federal Finance Minister said that we are making international payments successfully and the trust of international organizations has been restored on Pakistan. Emirati banks are expected to obtain short-term trade finance.
