If you started receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997, or if you receive both Social Security retirement and SSI benefits, you would have received your payments on May 3. Recipients of SSI benefits would have received their payments on May 1. Additionally, those on SSI should expect their June payment on May 30, since June 1 is a Sunday this year.
