$1,950 Hitting Bank Accounts Tomorrow: Find Out If You’re Eligible!

By Calvin Baxter

This week marks another series of Social Security payouts to beneficiaries of the Social Security Administration (SSA). Each month, the SSA disburses payments to millions of beneficiaries, primarily retirees. For many of these individuals, SSA payments are their only income, making punctual and accurate distributions essential. The SSA adheres to a rigorous payment schedule monthly to meet these needs.

Monthly Payment Schedule of the SSA

Recipients of SSA benefits can count on receiving their payments on consistent dates each month. These dates are determined by the type of benefits they are receiving, their birthdate, and whether they are receiving multiple types of benefits. Typically, you will receive your payment on a Wednesday each month, aligned with your birth date. For this month, retirement beneficiaries will receive their payments on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, June 11: Birth dates between the first and 10th of the month.
  • Wednesday, June 18: Birth dates between the 11th and the 20th of the month.
  • Wednesday, June 25: Birth dates between the 21st and the 31st of the month.

However, there are exceptions to this standard schedule. For example, individuals who only receive Supplementary Security Income (SSI) are paid on the first of the month. Those who get both SSI and retirement benefits receive their payments on the third. Additionally, beneficiaries who started receiving benefits before May 1997 also receive their payments on the third of each month, regardless of their birthdate. Due to June 1 falling on a weekend, SSI payments were issued early, with the next payment scheduled for July 1.

Upcoming $1,950 Payment Disbursement

This week includes the final payment cycle for retirement beneficiaries for June. According to the Social Security’s Monthly Statistical Snapshot, the average beneficiary receives $1,950.27 monthly in benefits. The maximum retirement benefit offered by the SSA can reach up to $5,108. Therefore, beneficiaries whose birthdays fall between the 21st and 31st of any month will receive an average of $1,950.27. Once benefits are claimed, the payment amount can only be adjusted annually through the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), which helps maintain the purchasing power of the benefits each year.

Summer Benefit Disbursements on the Horizon

The SSA is known for its consistent monthly payments, but other limited-time programs are also preparing to distribute funds by month-end. With the school summer break approaching, many families face increased financial pressures, particularly those relying on school meals to feed their children. In response, the federal government has launched the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer program (Sun Bucks program). Each eligible child aged six to 18 will receive an additional $120 on an EBT card to help families cover extra grocery costs during the summer. To qualify, households must already be participants in programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
