Twin Telepathy Confirmed? Viral Interview with Identical Twins Sparks Debate!

By Miles Harper

The concept of twin telepathy just got a boost from an unexpected source. A video clip shared by an Australian media company about an armed carjacking incident has unintentionally spotlighted this phenomenon.

Rather than the crime itself, the internet buzz has been centered around two eyewitnesses, identical twins Bridgette and Paula Powers.

In a viral video that has amassed over 5.6 million views on X, the Powers twins describe, in perfect unison, their encounter during the event.

Describing the tense moments, the twins recited together, “One guy, he was up there with our mom. He went up there, and he was coming back down toward us. And he goes, ‘Run, he’s got a gun!’” They continued, “Oh, our hearts started to pound. I said, ‘Oh, Mom. Where’s Mom?’”

The interview proceeded with the twins, donning identical outfits, detailing in harmony how their mom confronted the gunman, asking him if he was OK.

As the assailant allegedly threatened to shoot their mother, she “distracted him to make him look the other way” and concealed herself in a bush, the twins explained simultaneously.

“All I was thinking about when we were running was, ‘I hope he doesn’t fire,’” the twins shared in one voice. “We’re so blessed.”

By the end of their recount, the twins slightly varied in their expressions, with one saying “you run for your life” and the other saying “you run for your safety.”

Following their widespread interview, the twins spoke to SBS News, mentioning that they hadn’t realized they were speaking in unison.

Addressing the skepticism, Bridgette commented, “There are a lot of negative comments on Facebook … because some people are saying, ‘It’s fake. How can you rehearse a conversation?’ You can’t. It’s just us, and we’ve tried not to talk together, but it’s impossible.”

The Powers twins, who operate the Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Rescue, expressed that they no longer let criticism bother them.

“We used to worry, but not anymore,” Bridgette remarked. “We just laugh at them now.”
