Due to violent incidents during the elections in the Indian state of Manipur, the voting process was affected in several polling stations.

According to the Indian media report, the election authorities declared the vote invalid in 11 polling stations affected by the incidents of violence and ordered a new vote.

The report said that the Congress had demanded re-election in 47 polling stations in Manipur, alleging that the polling booths were captured and the elections were rigged.

It may be recalled that there were reports of clashes between armed groups during the elections in Manipur on Friday.

These armed groups also tried to occupy the polling stations amid heavy security arrangements.

It should be noted that voter turnout has been high in the Indian state of Manipur despite the deaths during ethnic clashes during the year.
