If you’re not a fan of raw oysters, Pace recommends preparing them gratin-style with sautéed shallots, sherry, panko, and Parmesan. Similarly, shrimp can offer comparable benefits, particularly when marinated in a citrusy, garlic-rich mixture with herbs that promote libido.

Bone-in pork ribs may not initially seem enticing, but they pack a punch with lean protein, B vitamins, zinc, and iron, all of which bolster energy and nerve function. To avoid a heavy meal, Pace advises using a “naked marinade” made from apple butter, vinegar, mustard, and coconut oil, which adds flavor without inducing lethargy.

Next is the unassuming potato, which far from being a passion dampener, provides sustained-release carbohydrates and B vitamins for energy. The best way to prepare them? Partially cook, then slice thickly and grill with garlic, olive oil, and cracked pepper for sustained energy without the crash.

For a sweet option that doesn’t disrupt the mood, consider watermelon. Rich in citrulline, an amino acid that promotes nitric oxide production and helps relax blood vessels for better blood flow, watermelon is a surprising contender. Pace suggests enhancing its natural flavors by brushing slices with honey, lime, and cilantro and grilling them until caramelized.

Conversely, heavily processed foods, high-fat dishes, and extremely low-carb diets can blunt your sexual edge. Excessive caffeine might raise stress hormones, and while a little alcohol could initially help relax, too much can spoil the experience. When in doubt, opt for something light, hydrating, and unlikely to undermine your evening plans.
