Attention bald gentlemen—your moment has arrived.
A recent poll involving 2,000 women has just validated what celebrities like Jason Statham, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Stanley Tucci have exemplified for ages: baldness is undeniably attractive. The survey, which placed a bald pate as the second most desirable trait in men—just after muscular physiques—highlights a shift in attractiveness paradigms.
The research, conducted by Illicit Encounters and highlighted by the Daily Mail, asked women to pinpoint the physical attributes they find most alluring in a male partner. Muscular builds topped the list with 42 percent of the women favoring this trait, closely followed by a smooth, hair-free head garnering 40 percent. This preference for baldness outpaced other favored features like blue eyes (38 percent), beards (36 percent), and even the favored curly hair (30 percent).
According to Jessica Leoni, a spokesperson for Illicit Encounters, “Bald men are some of the most attractive men around.” She added that attraction is a highly personal matter but often correlates with traits like confidence and maturity.
Scientific studies support this bald attractiveness. Findings from research published in Social Psychological and Personality Science suggest that men lacking hair are often perceived as more dominant, smarter, and more honest than those with full heads of hair. It isn’t just the absence of hair, but rather what baldness symbolizes—a confident demeanor, simplicity in grooming, and a non-vain attitude.
Tom Simons, a 45-year-old from Kent, experienced this positive perception shift firsthand. Initially shocked by his hair loss, he recounted, “I was terrified and started wearing hats and even thought about getting a wig.” However, after a friend encouraged him to embrace his baldness, he noticed a significant change. “I embraced being bald and proud, and I’ve never looked back. I definitely receive more attention now that I’ve ditched the hat,” he shared.
In addition to baldness, the survey found that other attractive traits include green eyes, dark or blonde hair, and prominent cheekbones. While traits like chest hair (18 percent), tattoos (10 percent), and piercings (7 percent) also made the list, they paled in comparison to the allure of baldness.
The findings from this survey suggest that men might not need to pursue unrealistic beauty standards. Women are looking for authenticity, not perfection. Often, that means letting go of hair loss treatments and embracing the smooth, bald look.
So if you’re worried about your thinning hairline or considering expensive hair treatments, it might be time to reconsider. As it turns out, a sleek, bald head isn’t just acceptable—it’s downright appealing.
