With the recent improvement in the situation in Afghanistan, currency shops in Peshawar have begun to reopen, marking a partial halt in currency smuggling from Peshawar to Afghanistan.

As a consequence, the value of the Afghan currency has experienced a decline against the Pakistani rupee. This development has prompted some traders in Peshawar to resume operations, a move observed since yesterday.

The reopening of these shops has drawn Afghan citizens, forming queues to exchange their currency. Afghan nationals have been exchanging Afghan currency for dollars, rials, and pounds at these outlets. Notably, Chowk Yadgar has been a focal point for hundreds of Afghan migrant traders engaging in illicit currency activities.
