A proposal to impose a tax on solar panel installers

Web Desk: The Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) has proposed imposing a tax on domestic or commercial solar panel installers.
According to sources in the Ministry of Energy, the Central Power Purchase Agency has sent the summary to the Ministry of Power.
Sources in the Ministry of Energy say it has been proposed to collect a tax of Rs 2,000 per kilowatt from domestic or commercial solar panel installers.
A 12 KW solar panel grid is expected to charge Rs 2,000 per KW.
According to Ministry of Energy sources, 24 thousand rupees will be charged from the customers who install 12 kilowatt solar panels.
Sources in the Ministry of Energy say that the Power Division has sent the CPPA to the Prime Minister for summary approval.
A proposal to review the rates of solar panels installed in the country is also under consideration.
