New $1,700 Stimulus Checks Arriving in Just 6 Days: Find Out Who’s Eligible!

By Calvin Baxter

This month, you might be eligible for a stimulus check payment. These one-time payments are a common tool used by state and federal governments to provide quick financial relief to individuals facing immediate economic difficulties. Although these checks are not a permanent fix, they offer temporary relief from pressing financial hardships. This month, almost every resident in one particular state will receive a stimulus check.

Easing Financial Strains with Stimulus Checks

Stimulus checks are a direct and fast response from authorities during periods of economic downturn. They also mitigate recession risks by encouraging spending. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Biden Administration issued three rounds of stimulus checks from March 2020 to March 2021, known as Economic Impact Payments (EIPs). These were crucial for families hit by job losses and layoffs, with unemployment levels soaring to rates unseen since the Great Depression.

The most recent tax season marked the final opportunity for eligible recipients to claim the third EIP, which was worth $1,400. Although rumors circulated about a potential $5,000 federal stimulus check this year, no official confirmation was given. However, confirmed new federal stimulus initiatives include the ‘Trump Accounts’ program. This program, enacted by the Trump Administration as part of a significant legislative package, offers $1,000 for every child born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. Parents can add up to $5,000 annually to these accounts.

$1,700 Stimulus Payment for Alaskans

While stimulus checks typically address immediate economic emergencies, some programs provide annual payments that recipients look forward to each year. The Alaska Department of Revenue administers one such program through the Permanent Dividend Fund.

This initiative allows roughly 600,000 Alaskan residents to benefit from the state’s earnings from oil and precious minerals. This year, the payment is set at $1,702. Residents must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Residency in Alaska for at least 12 months with no intent to relocate
  • You must have spent at least 72 continuous hours in Alaska over the past two years for valid reasons such as education or military service
  • You must not have been incarcerated for a felony in the past year
  • If you have a felony or two misdemeanors since 1997, you must not have any misdemeanors in the past year

Timing of Payments

Eligible Alaskans can expect their payments to be issued on September 11 if their status on the program’s website indicates:

  • Dividend applications from 2024 (and earlier) listed as “Eligible-Not Paid” as of September 3, 2025, will be paid on September 11, 2025

The initial round of payments for this year was issued on August 21. Additional payments will continue into October, with those whose applications are marked as “Eligible-Not Paid” as of September 18, 2025, receiving their payments by October 2, 2025. If your application status is “Eligible-Not Paid” on October 13, 2025, you will receive your payment by October 23, 2025.
