Shocking Discovery: Baby Girl Develops ‘Micropenis’ After Cuddling with Dad!

By Miles Harper

In a startling incident in Sweden, a newborn girl began to develop male-like genital features after being held against her father’s bare chest, who was using a testosterone gel. The gel inadvertently transferred to her skin without anyone’s awareness.

According to Professor Jovanna Dahlgren, a pediatric endocrinologist who spoke with Göteborgs-Posten, this isn’t an isolated case. She has encountered at least six similar cases. In another disturbing instance, a 10-year-old boy experienced breast growth after exposure to his mother’s estrogen cream.

In the newborn girl’s situation, her clitoris grew larger and elongated, and her labia started to merge. Her parents were understandably alarmed. Elevated testosterone levels were confirmed through blood tests, and the source was eventually traced to her father’s testosterone gel. When the father ceased using the gel, the girl’s genitalia gradually began to revert to the typical female form.

Swedish Doctor Reports: Baby Girl Develops Male Genital Characteristics After Fatherly Contact

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) has seen a rising trend, especially noted by a jump in prescriptions in the US from 7.3 million in 2019 to over 11 million in 2024 as reported by CBS News. The therapy, popular among men in their 20s and 30s, is often showcased on platforms like TikTok, where users share their transformation stories. It’s frequently touted as a remedy for “manopause,” a term describing the natural decline in testosterone starting around age 40.

While TRT can enhance energy and libido, it also comes with potential side effects such as acne, reduced testicle size, decreased fertility, and mood fluctuations. The gel form of this hormone treatment is particularly hazardous if safety measures aren’t strictly adhered to. The Mayo Clinic advises that individuals using hormone creams should wash their hands post-application and cleanse any treated areas before making skin contact with others.

In this distressing case, the father was unaware that his body acted as a medium for dosing his newborn with testosterone during what was intended to be a harmless session of “kangaroo care”—a skin-to-skin nurturing practice. What was meant to be a bonding experience quickly escalated into a medical urgency.

This incident occurred years ago but remains a relevant warning. The term “micropenis” used in headlines is technically a misnomer here, as the actual condition involved virilization of the female genitalia due to unintended hormone exposure.

Fortunately, no charges were brought against anyone, and no long-term health issues were reported. However, the medical community continues to stress the importance of handling hormone treatments with extreme caution. This is particularly vital around children who are still developing or who are too young to understand the implications of such exposures.
